Architecture Alliance Landscape is currently working with the Hallandale Beach CRA to re-vitalize an aging warehouse district on the east side of the FEC Railroad Corridor, into an artistic and design oriented neighborhood. The Fashion Art and Design District includes properties located between NE 3rd street and Hallandale Beach Boulevard, on the west side of NE 2nd Avenue. The existing landowners and local residences have participated in design charrettes with Architecture Alliance Landscape and the city staff.
Although the project is still in the construction document phase, multi-family developers, breweries, and restaurants are showing interested in the neighborhood in anticipation of the streetscape development. Architecture Alliance Landscape’s plan proposes to narrow the travel lanes, add parallel parking, pedestrian plazas and travel ways, sculptures, building/storefront architectural treatments, landscaping, and vehicular and pedestrian lighting.
The excitement generated thus far by our initial design concepts has been so positive that the CRA is seeing this project as the catalyst for growth within the entire CRA district north of Hallandale Beach Boulevard.
